2007 ARRL RTTY Round-UpOnce again, I went back for another run in ARRL RTTY Round-Up, mostly convinced that it would be difficult to better my 2006 results. Surprise! With yet more RTTY contesters active in the contest and propagation reasonably OK, I ended up 24% ahead of 2006 ... and another new world SO HP record after log checking. 733 contacts were logged in the first four hours (190, 193, 172, 178 Qs/hr respectively). After eleven hours P49X was over 300 QSOs ahead of 2006 when I took my first break. Sunday, however, netted nearly the same number of QSOs as the prior year. I did force myself to run on 10 meters for 20 minutes and got 16 contacts with five of them working P49X on all bands, 10-80. I look forward to future years when some serious runs can be had on 10 meters. More details are in a sidebar article to the ARRL web report for the 2007 RTTY Round-Up. |
