Ed was first licensed as a Novice in 1962 with call sign WN6AYK.  In 1963, he upgraded to General Class and received call sign WB6AYK.  During my college days, he was busy with his math and engineering studies at Cal Poly Pomona and inadvertently let his Ham license expire.  After moving to Colorado in 1972, he renewed his interest and was licensed again as WB0WNU.  When the FCC initiated Incentive Licensing and Extra Class licensees could choose their call sign, Ed requested W0YK and has held it ever since.
